The Bac Giang provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on November 23 held its first performance of traditional singing to mark Vietnam’s Cultural Heritage Day.
Many officials and people from the US city of San Francisco have visited the display area for Vietnamese cultural space after Deputy Prime Minister Truong Vinh Trong officially opened the “Meet Vietnam 2009” exchange programme in the city on November 16.
The southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau held it first ever culinary festival from November 20-22 with assistance from the provincial Tourism Association and the People’s Committee of Vung Tau City and the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The Thai Nguyen Tea Festival 2009 sponsored by Vietnam Television (VTV) and the Thai Nguyen Radio and Television Station took place in La Bang Commune, Dai Tu District, Thai Nguyen Province on November 28
A conference entitled “Promoting investment in culture, sports and tourism fields in Southern provinces” was held in the Dai Nam Tourist Resort in Binh Duong Province on November 28 by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST).
The ASEAN trade fair displayed a wide range of handicraft products, traditional dishes. In addition, art programs from the participating countries were performed during the fair. This is an annual event co-organised by ASEAN countries, Mexico and Central America to raise funds for educational organisations and poor women in Mexico.
Vietnamese Exhibition and Film Festival Held in France
Established in 1981, the Vietnamese House in France has been run with 3 main objectives: holding exhibitions, introducing various Vietnamese arts and teaching Vietnamese.
Exhibition Tells Stories Of Mekong Residents
The telling stories focus on traditional and contemporary customs, the lives and culture of people in the three countries where generations have relied on the legendary river for their survival.
Around 40 groups of artists from 29 countries and territories have registered to perform at the Hue Festival 2010 under the theme “Cultural heritage with integration and development” to be held in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue from June 5-13.
The inauguration is one of activities towards the Thang Long-Hanoi millennium anniversary and of major culture activities of the central province of Thua Thien-Hue this year. The national hero’s 21m high marble statue is made of 18 slabs, weighing 10-60 tonnes each. It was created by sculptor Le Dinh Quy.
